Yes, the madness continues!
I’m finally wrapping up my Toronto Fashion Week adventures, so many photos, and amazing designs! I’ve been totally overwhelmed with all of the photos I took (oops, did this to myself) but I couldn’t help it, my eyes were happy.
My favourite shows, looks, upcoming trends and what I wore while attending World Mastercard Toronto Fashion Week and perusing the Spring/Summer 2016 Canadian Collections. Make sure to check out Toronto Fashion Week: The Beginning for the full scoop and fashion week round-up.
Lucian Matis
———————–This show was absolutely insane bananas, what more can I say! I basically sat there gawking at every piece that romantically floated down the runway. Lucian Matis took a break from the Toronto Fashion Week scene for a few years, but boy did he make a come-back. Lucian is an evening wear genius and he really does create something for every woman, regardless of your style or figure. I was struck (ha) by the details on each and every piece. Lucian found a way to make each one stand out and draw interest, whether it be with beautiful florals, colours, abstract prints, and even beading. The white finale dress was entirely beaded, and left the room speechless. Oh, and how cute are those headbands!? The perfect touch of sparkle.
Hilary Macmillan
———————–This show was so cool, and I was really feelin’ the 70’s vibe. It’s probably my favourite fashion era (Rachel Zoe would back me up here) and it was apparent in everything, cuts, colours and fabrics. I loved the loose fits, hippe-chic sleeves, and the uber long necklaces worn by the models. They even walked down the runway accompanied by a live band who churned out some great musical classics from the era. All in all, the 70’s are coming back in a big way, and I’m pretty excited about that for spring!
Pink Tartan
———————–For me, this show had a little bit of everything. Those 70’s vibes definitely carried over in Pink Tartan’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection. I loved the unique sash “top” (if you can call it a top) and how these sashes were seen throughout the collection and added movement to the looks as the models strutted down the runway. The 1970’s are alive and well for spring, oranges and browns (staple colours of the era), and of course a little fringe. Oh and espadrilles were a big hit with me! I need them in every colour (check out my favourite pair from a previous post: Anna in Savnnah Ya’ll!).
