Can a jumpsuit be stylish and comfortable? Of course it can. But I know a lot of folks aren’t sure how to pull off a jumpsuit. So, I’m sharing 6 different ways to style a simple basic jumpsuit, whether you’re sporting a baby bump or not.
Watch the video on Instagram or Facebook to see 6 different ways to style a jumpsuit, whether you’re sporting a baby bump or not.
A basic jumpsuit should be a staple in your wardrobe whether you’re pregnant or not! The one I’m wearing here comes in three other colours and can be styled in a multitude of ways.
Yes, since a jumpsuit is a one-piece outfit it requires you to pee in the nude (mostly anyway), but I’ll take that trade-off for the comfort a jumpsuit offers.
Jumpsuits are key transitional pieces, especially in an army green like this one (which also comes in three other colours) as they look better layered. If you’re wondering how to wear a jumpsuit in the fall or spring, the answer is layers. Jackets, kimonos, sweaters, and cardigans can help to bring together a stylish jumpsuit outfit.

I’m 37 weeks pregnant in these photos (and the video you can watch here) and started losing interest in any clothing that put pressure below my ever-growing baby bump.
Not to mention, if you’re pregnant like I am in here (I was 37 weeks with my second baby when these were taken/the video was filmed), you need a jumpsuit. In early pregnancy, a jumpsuit is one of the best pieces of clothing to hide a baby bump if you’re not quite ready to share your baby news with the world. In your third trimester, it’s one of the most comfortable things you can wear, since there are no elastics or bands putting pressure on what may be a sizable bump.

A one-piece outfit (or really any outfit at all) also pairs splendidly with accessories from small shops! Find this mama necklace in gold or silver from Core Maternity and upcycled headbands like this one from The Crown Co.
Jumpsuit Outfit 1: Cardigan + Statement Necklace
This one is a no-brainer. Choose a cardigan that compliments the colour of your jumpsuit and throw it on top. The beauty of this is that the length doesn’t matter, the cardigan can hit you around the waist, knee, or ankle when you’re wearing a full-length pant romper.
Adding a cardigan is a no-brainer, but the beauty of this is that the length doesn’t matter. The cardigan can hit you around the waist, knee, or ankle when you’re wearing a full-length pant romper.
To jazz up the neckline, opt for a bold necklace. Finish off the look with a comfy pair of flats that works well with both the jumpsuit and the cardigan. You can pull it all together with a purse that’s the same colour as your flats, making everything pleasantly matchy matchy.
Consider the look pictured throughout this post a bonus way to style your jumpsuit outfit. A thick sweater negates the need for a jacket while accessories in corresponding earth tones bring it all together.
Jumpsuit Outfit 2: Denim Jacket + Loop Scarf
A denim jacket is great for keeping it casual and is appropriate just about any time of year, it can even be tied around your waist as the temperatures warm up in the afternoon. You could of course also opt to wear a leather bomber jacket instead. Add colour with a loop scarf in a complementary hue. I tied this look together with brown loafers and a matching purse, a shade that goes well with pops of orange and army green.
Jumpsuit Outfit 3: Knotted Sweater + Long-Line Vest
The beauty of this look is that just about any sweater will do since you can adjust it to the right length with a knot. You can increase the cozy factor and make your outfit more interesting by laying on a long-line vest. The two silhouettes will balance one another out, so you don’t appear top-heavy in a bulky sweater. Since you’re probably looking to stay warm in this look, opt for booties in a colour that coordinates well with the sweater or vest.
If you can’t find a sweater that’s the right length, just tie a knot! That way you can choose the right piece based on thickness and colour, and not fret over the length.
Jumpsuit Outfit 4: Trench Coat + Wide Brim Hat
A trench coat is a no-brainer for spring, and it’s perfect for a rainy day when paired with a wide-brim hat, booties, scarf, and an umbrella of course. Beige trench coats are often paired with complementary earth tones or neutrals, but they don’t have to be! Add a little colour to a rainy day with pink, purple, and burgundy, all of which can be worn together in corresponding shades, especially with your accessories. Unexpected colour combinations are a great way to make a jumpsuit look like a dressy pant romper and step up your look with a little extra chic factor.
A classic trench coat doesn’t have to be paired with neutral tones. Add a bit of flare by pairing it with pink, purple, or burgundy accessories to jazz up your look.
Jumpsuit Outfit 5: Oversized Sweater + Bucket Bag
Some rainy spring days call for an oversized sweater, so throw one over your jumpsuit and call it a day! Choose flat booties to stay warm and comfortable as well as a delicate necklace that you won’t even remember you’re wearing. If you want to change it up, add a small square scarf and tie it around your neck. Doing so is a great way to add an interesting piece to your outfit without sacrificing warmth and comfort.
Try accessorizing with a small square scarf tied around your neck instead of a necklace. It adds interest to your look without sacrificing warmth and comfort.
Jumpsuit Outfit 6: Silk Kimono + Colourful Clutch
Embrace your inner boho chick and throw on a light silk kimono. This is a great option for warmer days where you still want to spice up your one-piece jumpsuit with an interesting layer. Choose a colourful clutch or purse of your choice in a corresponding colour and finish off the look with a long necklace that keeps within the boho-chic theme.
Want to layer your jumpsuit in warmer weather? Opt for a silk kimono and embrace your inner boho-chic chick.
Hopefully, some of these ideas serve as inspiration to embrace a love of the one-piece outfit, even if it means going pee half-naked, ha!
